How a domain transfer works
Buy a domain transfer at JetsNext. You keep all the time remaining on your existing registration and get a free one-year extension. You'll receive an email containing your Transaction ID and Security Code.
Log in to your current registrar and request the Authorization (EPP) Code. First make sure domain protection is turned off and the domain is unlocked, or the code request will be blocked.
Once the code arrives by email, log in to JetsNext and start the transfer. When the status shows βAuthorization Required,β choose Begin Transfer Authorization, enter the code, then choose Accept transfer at current registrar.
You'll get a confirmation email from your current registrar. To accept the transfer you don't need to do anything β it proceeds automatically. To cancel, follow the link in that email.
A confirmation email arrives from JetsNext about four days after you initiate. Note that the current registrar has up to five days to release the domain.
"We received notification that you have requested to transfer to another domain name registrar. If you would like to proceed with this transfer you do not need to respond to this message. If we do not hear from you by the stated date, this transfer will proceed. We are committed to providing you with the solutions, services, and support to help you succeed online."
Why a transfer can be declined
Two 60-day rules cause most failed transfers. Check these first to save yourself the wait.
A newly registered domain can't be moved yet. Wait until it's at least 60 days old β you can check the registration date in WHOIS.
A domain that recently changed registrars is locked to a 60-day window. Wait at least 60 days since the last transfer before requesting a new one.
